Must-Purchase Valentine's Day Gifts

February 6, 2021
Kevin "KJ" Jarnagin

With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, it’s time to purchase the perfect gift for the gun lover in your life.

Gundog Grind Coffee

Honesty, I am not a coffee drinker—unless you count candy coffee as the real thing. If it doesn’t have a pound of sugar with caramel and white chocolate included, I am not a good source to recommend coffee as a gift. I once went to deer camp, and the guys asked me to make coffee. How hard could this be? Well, I was never asked to make it again, so I assume I was bad at the whole deal.

Gundog Grind was created by shooters and hunters who wanted to fuel the early-morning lifestyle. To give this coffee a fair shake, I tried it like normal people. I did, however, add a touch of creamer to it, very little mind you. The flavor was surprisingly great for a non-coffee drinker. I tried the Pointer’s Roast Caramel Kahlua. It had all the notes I look for in a candy coffee, but without calling it candy.

My wife, on the other hand, loved it! It was on par with all the fancy big-name brands in coffee, but they actually like hunting, shooting and conservation. Gundog Grind is 100 percent worth a buy for the coffee lover in your life. CLICK HERE for your grind.

"Love" Shirts

I’m a big fan of quality t-shirts, especially if they poke fun of a fake holiday. I swore off Valentine’s Day back in the High School Years. Yes, partially because I couldn’t get a date. However, Ranger Up finds a unique way to celebrate the day.

I like my t-shirts like I like my country—pro-2A. Ranger Up produces some quality and hilarious shirts that echo our 2A rights. One of the best on the Ranger Up website is the “You’re as Rare as Ammo.” T-shirt. I can’t list all the fun shirts, but you should definitely check them out.

BB Guns

We can all agree ammo prices are steep and scarce. In a conversation with my dad, he mentioned he didn’t want to shoot because ammo was so limited. I thought about his words and decided that’s no way to live. As an alternative I suggested getting an airgun that matches his carry gun of choice.

I ended up selecting the GLOCK 19 Gen 3 BB Pistol. First, it feels just like my Gen 3 and I can get a pile of BBs for under $10. The Hornady Black Diamond steel bbs cost $5.79 for 1500 bbs. If that doesn’t scream love, I don’t know what will? Air Gun Depot has something for everyone, even the picky ones.

Night Vision

Your special someone’s vision is already perfect since they chose you, but let’s say their night vision isn’t the greatest. SIONIX is making big waves in night vision. A favorite of the Gun Talk crew is the Aurora Black. The color night vision thrives in rugged conditions and when paired with the Aurora Rail Mount is killer on a .223/5.56.

I love night vision, but to be able to do it with color is brilliant. The colors jump out on the screen, and the Aurora Black streams wirelessly to a smart device with the SIONYX app. It’s difficult to understand how this wizardry works, but your loved one will thank you immensely. Leather

I don’t pick out my wife’s purses. I’ll let Galco do that for me. Galco mastered the art of purse selection for the guys by making handbags that are sleek and engineered for the armed lady. Whether you select the Meridian Holster Handbag or the Metropolitan Holster Handbag, your significant other will appreciate the timeless style of craftsmanship behind each purse. If you purchased a new gun for the Mrs. for Christmas, this is the perfect follow-up shot.

My gifts don’t always land perfectly. My wife seemingly prides herself on how difficult she is to buy for. If I was guessing, each of these would be perfectly tuned to her taste. Now, all I have to do is take my own advice. ~ KJ
