Fourteen years ago today Hurricane Katrina made landfall. The images of the situation where there are no police officers prompted many around the country to re-evaluate their personal safety plans. Many bought guns and got training.
The flooding in New Orleans was due mostly to incompetence (Corps Of Engineers) and greed (nearly every official in New Orleans). Plus, Mayor Ray Nagin (“No Gun”) ordered the illegal confiscation of all privately-owned firearms in the city.* (Yeah. “No one wants to take your guns,”).
1. The courts have consistently ruled that the police have no legal duty to protect anyone.
2. You are always on your own.
Don’t allow those who don’t or won’t understand this keep you from making preparation an important part of your life.
Don’t let your car gas tank go below 1/2. You may need to escape, and when the electricity is out, the pumps don’t work.
Have a plan for your family, including the place 100 miles away where you will all meet.
Understand that your cell phone may not work. You may not be able to call or text family members. For WEEKS.
Hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, train derailment with poison gas cloud, etc.
If you can’t imagine a situation where this could happen, you need to work on your imagination.
Your family depends on you. Don’t let them down.
