SIG Sauer has expanded its innovative P211 pistol line with two new variants — the P211-GT4 and P211-GT5 — offering shooters distinct performance options from concealed carry to competition and duty roles. Both entrants build on the precision-machined, double-stack 1911 platform that SIG introduced to the market in recent years, combining classic hammer-fired ergonomics with modern features and optics readiness.
The P211-GT5 is a full-size model engineered to excel in competitive shooting and duty/self-defense applications. It features a 5-inch target-crowned bull barrel and a full-length SIG-LOC™ PRO optic-ready slide, giving it predictable recoil characteristics, accuracy potential, and room for popular pistol optics. Fully ambidextrous controls and a rugged steel frame with accessory rail support operational versatility.
In contrast, the P211-GT4 pares things down for concealed carry and everyday use. With a 4.2-inch carry-length slide and barrel, a low-profile magwell, and compact overall footprint, the GT4 balances capacity with carry comfort without sacrificing performance. Like the GT5, it also supports optic mounting and features robust controls and an ergonomic grip module.
Both models are chambered in 9mm and come equipped with three steel magazines — typically two 21-round and one 17-round — making them capable performers right out of the box. Built on a steel frame with a precision-engineered grip module, the pistols include features such as a straight-pull skeletonized trigger, ambidextrous controls, and accessory rails for lights or lasers. SIG’s optics-ready slides accept a range of popular red dots, giving shooters flexibility for duty, competition, or defense setups.
The P211-GT4 and GT5 expand SIG Sauer’s presence in the double-stack 1911 market, appealing to shooters who want high capacity and performance in a hammer-fired package that leverages modern design elements like optics compatibility and modular ergonomics. Availability and pricing details have yet to be widely announced, but the models are being showcased at SHOT Show in Las Vegas.
