We upgrade everything in our lives. We upgrade our data plans, cell phones, vehicles and of course our firearms. We constantly look at what makes our lives better. I see no difference in our EDC guns. I look at an upgrade to carry guns as a benefit to make the shooter more reliable and accurate. Upgrades like a better trigger or better sights only help the shooter, which could help in a life or death situation. Here are some practical ways you can upgrade your EDC.

Belts
Perhaps the easiest way to upgrade your EDC is the help of a solid belt. EDC belts should be durable and stiff. When carrying, you don’t want give to your belt. When a defensive situation arises the last thing you want is to have trouble finding your grip. Get a belt made by EDC people. Crossbreed Holsters produces a great product with a variety of styles. Sights
You can’t hit what you can’t see. Sights are an easy way to increase accuracy. Obviously, training courses and time on the range help a ton. However, adding a solid set of sights ensures you can see the target. One thing I look for in a sight is durability. If you are training as you should, that gun will get drawn a bunch from the holster. Sights that are durable are key to maintaining proper sight alignment. Hardware
If you take your EDC firearm to the range often, which you should, the hardware inside the gun can wear down. Recoil springs are a good place to start to ensure the gun you decide to carry runs smoothly every time that trigger is pressed. Changing them out takes little time and can make all the difference in the world if your gun is running sluggish. SHOP NOW
Triggers
An enhanced trigger might be the upgrade I make first on my EDC. Why? Because a good trigger helps the overall shooting experience. For me, the trigger I carefully choose aides in confidence and accuracy. Both of which I want in a self-defense situation. I don’t drop a trigger in and magically believe I’m instantly better. I’ve got to practice and practice. If I can take a week-long training course with the new trigger even better. Only then will I carry my EDC with a new trigger. SHOP NOW
Optics
The day is approaching when a red dot is standard issue on a concealed carry gun. The make longer shots more manageable. Many guns out there come with rear slide cuts and various plates to mount a wide variety of red dots. Once you’re outfitted with a new red dot sight, it will take some getting used to before becoming proficient. It’s just a different sight picture than what we are used too. SHOP NOW
