Beginning Thursday, throngs of like-minded individuals descend upon Atlanta’s Georgia World Congress Center to enjoy the NRA Annual Meetings. Attendees can stop in to the nearly 800+ exhibitors that are introducing new products, and hosting celebrity meet and greets, Q&As, demonstrations and special exhibits.
However, before you step foot out the front door, here is a quick rundown of five events that you won’t want to miss.
1) What: New Products, Demonstrations, Meet & Greets, Giveaways, Q&As, and MORE!
When: April 27 – 30
Where: The Entire Show
Why: The main reason to come to the NRA AM - So much to see and do!
A new pistol announcement plus a new giveaway from Springfield Armory (#1331)… the new FN 509 (#2429)… champion competitor Max Michel at SIG Sauer (#3741) on Friday at 9:45 am... the new Stag Arms 10 and 10S (#4332)… Lou Ferrigno and a Dream Gun Giveaway each day in the Brownells booth (#1713)… a customized Colt Competition “Battle Flag” rifle giveaway at Warne (#1564)… a gun-care product demo from competitor Maggie Reese on April 28 at 3pm (Vista Outdoor #2542)… different prize packs (including an AK-47) at Century Arms (#723) on Friday and Saturday…. 2) What: Hired Guns Concert
When: Thursday, April 27 at 9 pm
Where: The Star Community Bar 437 Moreland Ave NE Atlanta, GA 30307
Why: This marks the second year the firearm’s industry favorite band has performed. The six-member band is comprised of Ryan Gresham and Jim Kenzie (Gun Talk), Nick Collier (DoubleStar), Gary Killingsworth (Crimson Trace), Sam Larson (Swanson Russell) and Keith Martin (Sight Picture Media). You never know who will show up to see the band play! Come on out Thursday night for the unofficial kickoff party of the NRA Annual Meetings.
3) What: Tom Gresham’s Gun Talk (Live Radio Show)
When: Saturday, April 29: 10 am – 1 pm (Ruger booth), and Sunday, April 30: 2 pm – 5 pm (FN booth)
Where: Ruger Firearms #3142, and FN America #2429
Why: Twenty-three years and going strong, Tom Gresham’s Gun Talk is the original national talk radio show about guns and the shooting sports. Tom will be interviewing industry leaders and personalities on both days. Stop by and listen live!
4) What: NRA Youth Day
When: Sunday, April 30
Where: Georgia World Congress Center Room B206
Why: The NRAAM is for the entire family, but growing the youth shooting sports and experience is really where this event shines. Experience the NRA's Youth Hunter Education Challenge – Wildlife Identification, Multi Gun AirSoft and Laser Shot, and try your hand at roping and barrel racing with the National High School Rodeo Association. Children and their families are also encouraged to participate in the Sponsors Discovery Trail, which takes the participant through the exhibit hall to each of the NRA Youth Day Sponsors' booths. Everyone who successfully completes the Sponsors Discovery Trail is automatically entered into the drawing of prizes and must be present to win.
5) What: Pyramyd Air Airgun Range
When: April 27 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm/ April 28 & April 29 from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, and April 30 from 9:00 am – 5:00
Where: Pyramyd Air #950
Why: This marks the eighth year the NRA Competitive Shooting Division will host the Pyramyd Air Airgun Range. The range provides attendees of all ages a hands-on airgun shooting experience. This is a great option if you are looking to take the kids and take a break from the miles of exhibitors. Admission is free and NRA safety officers will be on hand to help youths and others who might need assistance on the range.
