Not Your Granddaddy's Gear

My grandfather would have never paired the words technology and hunting together, but I’d be willing to bet he’d be on board with the gear today.

I took the weekend to hit the primitive firearms season opener, and as usual, it didn’t disappoint. If my Grandfather had access to the high-tech equipment I used, you better believe he would’ve saved his money and bought it all. We’re taught to work smarter, not harder. That is precisely what this gear allows us to do.

ATN BinoX-HD

The ATN BinoX-HD 4-16X binoculars were built for the technologically advanced outdoorsman. Have you ever entered the field and had skunk odor rush over you as if you’d just stepped on it? Not with these binos. I circumvented a skunk and made it to my stand with ease. During the wee hours, I picked up deer moving toward my location well over 500 yards out. I couldn’t have done it with a basic set of binos. Right now, I am seeing no issues with using the Day/Night optics from ATN as a hunting tool.

Another added benefit I found is the ability to record the game. I videoed coyotes running deer off the field, a bobcat cruising and a ton of deer. All of which wouldn’t have happened using other optics. These optics also have an adjustable magnification, much like a riflescope. You can’t say that about fixed power optics.

Did my Grandfather kill critters with much less technically savvy gear? Yes. But the capabilities and benefits are way too cool not to utilize this impressive technology on your next hunt. ~ KJ
