Life-Saving Training You Can Do Today

On Gun Talk, I emphasize training all the time -- probably to the point of driving some of you crazy. Sorry about that, but it's not just important. It's vital. Last Sunday, John Farnam, a top firearms trainer, joined me to talk about the things you can do to keep yourself and those important to you alive in a situation such as the Las Vegas shooting.

No, you aren't going to shoot back at a building that's almost a quarter-mile away, but as you work your way between trucks and buildings, it would be wise to have a good flashlight and a handgun. You don't know what the threat is, or

how widespread it is.

Here's your take away. Trauma training. John believes people died in Las Vegas when they didn't need to. If someone had been able to treat them immediately to stop the bleeding, some would have made it. Yes, it would be best to take a trauma class in person, but we're all busy. Farnam offers it online, and I'm going to take it. It's just that simple. My family, my friends, and I are worth it. Check out training courses HERE.

You're more likely to need the skills you get from this than you are to need your gunfighting skills (not that I don't like and encourage taking those classes, of course). Could be an auto accident, a chain saw or ax mishap, or anything else. Quick, decisive action can save a life. Waiting only two minutes can mean death.

If you are serious about protecting your family, I think this is a small investment that just could turn out to deliver a priceless benefit. ~ Tom
