First Person Defender filming took place last week, and boy, did we see some interesting tactics! But the lessons learned during filming resonated with the entire crew.We brought in expert trainer, Chris Cerino, to teach our good guys skills that could save their lives if trouble hit the fan. One tip, however, stuck out above all – action is quicker than reaction. Stew on that for a moment.
Each of our first scenarios saw good guys reacting to a situation instead of owning it and acting. This hesitation, or waiting to see how things play out, could be fatal. Cerino stressed the importance of being active and searching for openings.
Bad guys leave small windows open that good guys exploit to win the fight. Take advantage and remember that action is quicker than reaction. ~ KJ
Kevin Jarnagin
Kevin Jarnagin (KJ) hails from Oklahoma, but quickly established Louisiana roots after joining the Gun Talk team. KJ grew up as a big game hunter, and knows his way around a bass boat. Whether it’s making his way to British Columbia for elk or training with pistols, Jarnagin always seems to find a gun in his hands and adventure on his mind.
